Asylum Legal Support Volunteer

This is a part-time role to support the Executive Director in delivering the Asylum Support Project.

The volunteer will be dealing with asylum cases based on sexuality - talking to asylum seekers, obtaining all available information to allow a preliminary assessment of their asylum claim, deciding whether they can be referred to a specialist solicitor for detailed assessment.

What you will gain from this role is first-hand experience in dealing with asylum cases based on sexual orientation, knowledge of asylum law and immigration issues.

NB: This role might appeal particularly to law students with an interest in immigration and human rights.
