The Lesbian Community Project aims to address the imbalance in society
that causes lesbians and bisexual women to suffer prejudice and inequality.

women in various ways, including discrimination, isolation, harassment and
low self-esteem.
LCP aims to tackle this through provision of a range of services which:
- Break down isolation of individual lesbians and bisexual women
- Address and serve the specific needs of this group
- Work with mainstream services to be more lesbian-aware and
lesbian-friendly
- provide specific and relevant services for those who are
particularly isolated, including those with children, from black and
ethnic minority communities, with disabilities and bisexual women

Women seeking asylum face many discriminatory barriers throughout the
process. The new Charter of rights of women seeking asylum seeks to create a
gender-sensitive culture within the UK Border Agency, promoting a holistic
approach to the treatment of women asylum seekers. It does this by covering all
aspects of the end-to-end asylum process: the asylum determination system,
accommodation, welfare, detention and removal. In providing a framework of
principles on the treatment of women asylum seekers it promotes strategic
thinking and encourages the UK Border Agency to close the gap between policy and
operational implementation of standards.
The advice line is open on Mondays 2.00 pm – 4:30pm and Thursdays 10.00 am
–12:30pm.
If you wish to refer a case to Asylum Aid, please read our referral
procedure on our website.

and more specifically in relation to Somalian culture and religion.
- To create an accepting support network within the Somalian gay
community.
- To provide a space for Somalian gay men & lesbians to meet, share
experiences and socialise.
- Initiate an honest and open discussion about homosexuality within
the Somali community.
- Promote positive images of Somalian gay men and lesbians in Somali
communities.

Aims of LGCM
- To encourage fellowship, friendship, and support among individual
lesbian and gay Christians through prayer, study and action, wherever
possible in local groups, and especially to support those lesbian and
gay Christians subjected to discrimination.
- To help the whole Church re-examine its understanding of human
sexuality, and to work for a positive acceptance of lesbian and gay
relationships within the framework outlined in the Statement of
Conviction below, so that all homosexuals may be able to live without
fear of rejection or recrimination, and that lesbian and gay Christians
may be able to contribute fully to the life and ministry of the Church.
- To encourage members to witness to their Christian faith and
experience within the lesbian and gay community, and to witness to their
convictions about human sexuality within the Church.
- To maintain and strengthen links with other lesbian and gay Christian
groups, both in Britain and elsewhere.
Statement of Conviction
It is the conviction of members of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement
that human sexuality in all its richness is a gift of God, gladly to be
accepted, enjoyed and honoured as a way of both expressing and growing in
love, in accordance with the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. Therefore it
is their conviction that it is entirely compatible with the Christian faith
not only to love another person of the same sex but also to express that
love fully in a personal sexual relationship.
Love Exiles Foundation
Supports GLBT couples who
have chosen or are considering exile in order to be together.
The Foundation was set up by Americans
who have had to immigrate to Europe to be with their same sex partners,
due to the US not recognizing same sex immigration. "We aim to be a
social and support group and to see if there are ways we can help to
push for the passing of the Permanent Partners Immigration Act in the
US".
