So... My partner and I have been together for, well not sure exactly how long but it's 4ish years. We have been living together for over 3 years now... We live in Serbia, the capital city of Belgrade, and we are anything but happy here... It is not illegal to be gay in Serbia, but that's basically only on paper... There was 1.5 gay pride attempts, the first ended in a lot of blood and gore, and the second had a few hundred participants and a few thousand police guarding it. The town was in flames, and broken to bits (more or less)... Nither my partner or I are camp so we didn't have any problems up till recently, and the problems started occuring because of our age difference. Some "commenting" on the streets, so you don't feel safe going out of your building at night, his coworkers cought on as well, and now they're doing everything in their power to get him fired from his job... I'm finishing college, but I just don't have the will to go on here... He completely astranged from his family because of us (I was a bit luckier...)... The living conditions are just getting worse and worse, and it is starting to reflect on our mental states... My question is... What to do? Will it be enough to seek Asylum? I mean it's not like some countriees where people are being locked up or even worse... But it's not exactly livable here, if you want to live a sane life that is... What would be the best thing to do? Save up money and get on a plane and ask for it at the airport, or apply from here? Is it even worht applying, what are the cahnces of getting it? I'm getting desperate here, so I would appriciate any help or comment...
I've been to the UK for a few AMAZING months back in 2006 and had the time of my life, felt like I came home after living abroad for all of my life.
Dunno if it matteres but I'm 26, and my partner's 42.
Tnx in advance
