Country Experts

UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group
Register of Country Experts

UKLGIG is looking for country experts to be included in its register.

UKLGIG works with lesbian and gay asylum seekers who often need an expert report on the treatment of lesbians and gay men in their country of origin and how this treatment would affect them if they returned. Experts can come from a range of backgrounds, including academics (sociologists, anthropologists, geographers, historians etc), development and aid workers, and local lawyers.

This register is not intended to substitute other registers already existing but to complement them. The register will be made available to the solicitors working with UKLGIG and to others requesting it to support asylum claims.

We particularly encourage experts with specific knowledge of lesbian and gay issues to register.

If you have relevant expertise and would be prepared to help please email our  with your details.
